The Lyn Valley Dog House, winner of our Best Retailer Award 2025, is expanding with a new branch in Bideford.
The grand opening event will take place at 11am on Saturday 26 July with a free signature biscuit for all new customers.
Owner Jacquie Dove says: “Following on from winning Retailer of the Year, I started thinking about how we might gently explore new horizons to see if The Lyn Valley Dog House could work elsewhere too.
“That’s when a chance conversation with Sally, owner of Lightning Tree in Lynmouth, sparked a new idea. Sally shares our ethos. Her shop is filled with beautiful, eco-conscious, handmade candles and specially curated gifts. The main difference? Sally’s customers typically walk on two legs.
“Sally and her team have created a wonderfully calm, welcoming shopping space in her second Lightning Tree shop in Bideford. Much like us in Lynton, where we share our space with Beth from Rulyn Dog Grooming, Sally was looking to develop her business further. And just like that, The Lyn Valley Dog House – Off the Leash! was born.
“From the start, I knew I wanted to create a space that felt distinctly us, warm, inviting, and full of carefully chosen products you won’t find in your average pet shop.
“We’ve decided to introduce our range gradually, allowing the local Bideford community to guide us.
“You won’t find the everyday basics like poo bags in our new space. Instead, we’re focusing on the special things we’re known for, including:
