Claude Atcher, France 2023 chief executive officer, said: “I am thrilled to welcome Aramis Rugby on board as an Official Supporter of Rugby World Cup 2023. Providing the participating nations with the most advanced training equipment available is of the upmost importance for the organising committee. The original family business was established in India in 1927 and first manufactured hockey sticks for the Olympics team before making cricket bats. The present company, founded in 2003 by Vikas and Roshni Mahajan, is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of rugby equipment, which includes scrum machines, balls, training equipment and high-performance kit and clothing, and is one of only a few rugby equipment brands to manufacture its own goods. Aramis Rugby is proud of its Indian heritage and operates its manufacturing processes from both its family factory in Punjab and at its Devon headquarters.

Former England international Will Greenwood, commented: “Having coached and played at Rugby World Cups, I fully understand the need for new innovative coaching methods and practices to develop a winning team. Aramis Rugby’s digital scrum machine is one of those innovations that can help players and coaches reach the next level by providing them with a new level of insight into performance and is therefore fit for the biggest stage in rugby.”

Rugby World Cup 2023

Rugby World Cup 2023 will take place in France from 8 September to 28 October 2023 with matches played in nine venues across 10 host cities. The tournament will be the 10th men’s Rugby World Cup and the second to be hosted by France after a memorable event in 2007.

RWC 2023 will take place in a year when the sport celebrates 200 years since Rugby School pupil William Webb Ellis was credited with inventing the game of rugby football in 1823 by showing ‘a fine disregard for the rules’ in catching the ball and running with it.
