Charity quiz and raffle to support Alzheimer’s sufferers

CHC charity quiz & raffle | Business Action

Barnstaple-based Compass CHC is hosting a fundraising charity quiz and raffle in support of Alzheimer’s Society at SQ Bar and Restaurant in Braunton on Tuesday 25 April 2017 and is inviting you and your colleagues, friends and family to join in.

Compass CHC is donating £250 to the event with a first prize of £125 prize money for the winning quiz team and an additional £125 worth of raffle prizes. 100% of proceeds from ticket sales and raffle going directly to Alzheimer’s Society on the night.

Being based in the South West, Compass CHC decided to support Alzheimer’s Society, who pride themselves that all funds raised in Devon and Cornwall stay in Devon and Cornwall. The charity, the UK’s leading dementia charity, works tirelessly to find new treatments and, ultimately, a cure for dementia.

It is predicted that by 2021, 1 million people will be living with the condition whilst in the UK alone, more than 850,000 people are currently living with dementia. As a company, Compass CHC speaks daily with families affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia so the work of the local charity is something managing director Tim Davies is keen to promote and he hopes many local teams will get behind the event and sign teams up for the quiz.

Managing director Tim Davies said: “We try to support local good causes as much as possible. As a company, individuals inform us daily how Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia have affected their families lives and we hear how devastating the impact can be on everyone involved. If, through this quiz, we can help to support the vital research and support work undertaken by Alzheimer’s Society then I will be delighted. I would like to extend my thanks to Lucy and Olly Seymour, owners of SQ Bar & Restaurant in Braunton who immediately offered their fantastic venue to us and have been so fantastically supportive of the whole event.”

Compass CHC would love you to join them at this special fundraising event; tickets cost £3 per person to be paid on the evening and teams should be made up of five people. Whilst the quiz starts at 7.30pm, teams are welcome to book a table at SQ Bar & Restaurant for a meal prior to the event starting. There will be a bar available on the night serving alcoholic, soft and hot drinks.

Reserving a table is recommended – email Nicole Mason on with your name, e-mail address, company and number of people you would like to book a table for.

Speaking of SQ Bar & Restaurant’s involvement, owner Olly Seymour commented: “When Tim Davies of Compass CHC approached us regarding his fundraising quiz night we didn’t hesitate to lend our support. On the back of our own fundraising masquerade ball last month, we knew we were perfectly placed to offer a venue, equipment and our expertise to the Compass CHC team by helping them put on an event for this very worthwhile charity. We look forward to seeing the many teams fill out our venue and hope the night is a success and that Alzheimer’s Society benefit from Compass CHC’s fundraising efforts.”
